How much can I make by sharing my car?
Earn up to €400 a month for just 10 hours of sharing per week!
Income depends on the type of car listed. Additional mileage will be charged to cover fuel and wear-and-tear costs.
Will my car be in good hands?
Your car is fully covered while you share it through Motoship. Drivers are verified before they are eligible to book a car on the app. Moreover, the drivers are rated on the app after their completed booking; this is reviewed and moderated. Drivers have 2 strikes for unfavourable ratings, after which they are blocked from booking cars on the app.
What is the age limit for Drivers?
Drivers must be 23 years or older and hold a full, unendorsed driving licence for a minimum of 3 years. International driving licences that are valid in the ROI are also accepted. They will submit their documents in the app and we will review their licence validity.

What if my car gets scratched or dented?
Cars on Motoship have additional scratch and dent cover – this covers the restoration of any small dents or scratches that happen during a booking. New scratches/dents should be reported immediately.

What is car sharing?

For drivers, it is on-demand availability of trusted rental cars when you need them. The two parties are connected through the Irish Motoship app safely, conveniently, and securely.
What if I book and I can’t find the car?
Car owners will need to accept a booking before the booking is made available to the driver. The car owner takes responsibility for ensuring that the booking is fulfilled – they will be liable for a fee for not fulfilling the booking. Car owners have 3 strikes, after which they will be delisted on the app. The driver will be fully refunded for the booking in the case of an unfulfilled booking and compensated with credit for their next booking. Credit will depend on the initial cost of booking and will be awarded on a case-by-case basis.

How much does it cost?
Drive from as little as €9 an hour or €50 per day. And the first 50km are free!
Cost depends on the type of car you choose, decreasing with each hour rented. After 50km, there is a €0.25 per km fee that will be applied.
